Business Processes Management System – Intalio

Intalio BPMS is a business processes management system with open source code and is considered to be the most frequently installed system around the world. The system is based on the Open Source technology with the possibility to purchase the highest level technical support that is an important feauture when choosing the corporate software. The following world famous customers use the Intalio system: BNP PARIBAS, Deutshe Bank, Santander and many others. Citeck company is the official Intalio partner and provides services for Intalio BPMS implementation and technical support.

Innovative Intalio BPMS software is capable to arrange effective correlation between a business-user and an IT-specialist, to improve the usage of the existing IT-systems and effective development of the new ones. Intalio BPMS provides the possibility to model, test, stimulate, perform and control business processes.

BPMS market

BPMS-system market has emerged relatively recently, though, according to Gartner company, it has an annual turnover of $ 1.9 bln and is growing by 15% a year (according to 2009 data). Intalio BPMS system is in the “Visionaries” group as per Garnter’s Magic Quadrant that shows a high system potential.

How is BMPS different from a standard software?

BPMS systems are a combination of methodology on modelling and business processes optimization as well as software for their optimization. This feature allows reducing the traditional gap between IT-technologies and business that emerges while developing and implementing regular systems.

Intalio BPMS implementation project

A standard implementation of business processes management system involves a collaboration of a business analyst designing a process in BPMN notation (Business Process Modelling Notation) and a developer performing the technical part of a solution. It should be pointed out that the developer continues his work with the business process in the system, designed by the analyst, not with the technical specification that is normally out-of-date as soon as it is signed. The feedback problem between the modelled business process and the developed software has been solved in a best possible way: the process modelled by the analyst is to be executed; a technical specialist is in charge of user-interface developing only and integrating it with other systems.

After the system goes live, BPMS project is not finished as in comparison to the implementation of traditional systems. This is the time to optimize the business process: a business analyst looks for a bottle-neck place – the weakest point that reduces the effectiveness of the whole business process. This is only possible due to usage of the component for monitoring and controlling the business process execution (Business Activity Monitoring, BAM) and system capability to simulate the executed process.

After the bottle-neck is identified, a business analyst changes the process in a way to minimize or to eliminate its impact. For example, when the deadline expires, the issues are escalated to the Manager of the employee who has the biggest % of the delays in the purchasing requisition confirmation. Or it is possible to make an automatic confirmation of the requisition up to certain amount. The alterations are made into the executed process that is used for all the further requisitions.
